Hey,
I have an L38C (rooted) and in the wifi settings for my static setup it has netmask and connects to wifi using a static address easily. I have (2) new L39C's one rooted and one not. Both have prefix length instead of netmask and after setting the static address, the connect button is always grayed out. The same with my ZTE Valet, same grayed out connect button. With the 39c's I left 1 un-rooted but both act the same. Is there any way to change something in the system to make the parameter accept netmask instead of prefix length. The valet and the 2 L39c's both have identical IP, Gateway and DNS settings that have to be changed to fit my network as in, IP reads 192.168.1.128 and needs to change to 192.168.2.98b for my network. The settings do change but the connect button is still greyed out. The prefix length is set to "24" on all 3 phones which from what I've read is equal to 255.255.255.0, which is what I used on the L38C. Both brands are very close in specifics, Android 4.1.1(valet) and 4.1.2(L38C's) Network hardware is EvDo rev. A and EvDo rev. A:6.
The phone that works w/static (L38C) was free from TracFone, the 3 that won't connect w/static were $9.99 each and are newer models.

Can this be inherent to Android 4.1.1 - 4.1.2 or the network hardware?

 thank,
michael

UPDATE -
I tried changing my system to the 192.168."1.1" vs "2.1" format but, not until I let my Network assign DHCP and changed to the "1.1" format did they work. All 3 connected immediately.
The L38C, Android 2.2.3 will connect either way but the Android 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 Fones will not connect with static address.
Anybody heard of this (bug)?

thanks again
