I personally won't be able to compile until this weekend, and that's only a maybe. I have to overwrite my Antergos partition with Ubuntu for full build compatability.

I have forked the Git project and reverted the commit for removing the prebuilt RIL. https://github.com/Coppyhop/android_device_samsung_gprimeltetfnvzw as of right now it only supports Lineage 14.1 but I'll get the other branches as well. Try compiling lineage using this new fork and tell me how it works.

Alright guys, in the next couple days I should have a thread on rooting and installing a custom rom with working cellular.

While there are Stock roms for the Straight Talk version of this phone, the Wifi Does not work on those. We need an image of the Tracfone stock rom for this phone. Please respond if you'd be willing to factory reset your phone and give us an image of your rom. (Only Stock rom please, Root is Okay but an unrooted version would be nice as well)

I'm going to try just mounting the System images and putting in the firmware of the older nougat builds into the new ones and see if that solves anything, the server where you can get them is a bit slow, so it'll take awhile to download (currently 5kb/s Yikes!) I'll host them on a mirror hopefully once they're done though. Stay tuned, if you want to help, consider joining the discord I just setup! See the "Site DIscussion" category for more

Hey guys, Coppyhop here. I've made a small discord server for us to all use to ask questions, discuss ROM development, share info, and just talk. If you don't know what it is, Discord is an Instant Messaging app similar to IRC. Registering and use is completely free. Here's an invite link: https://discord.gg/zBA8Bz5

The issue isn't APN settings, it's missing the firmware for the Radio and Modem. Adding the APN settings wouldn't do anything (I don't think you can even add APN settings with no SIM detected)

It was an issue with reactivation lock, if you want to root make sure to disable it.

I have the Tracfone version, sorry if I have said otherwise elsewhere. Yes I did get root, it was an issue with the Re-Activation lock.

Hello everyone! I'm starting this thread to post any info I have about getting Cellular Service and data in the galaxy grand prime (SM-S920L). As of right now the only working solution I have is to use a Lineage OS build prior to July 2017. Specifically, This https://download.msm8916.com/LineageOS/gprimeltetfnvzw/20170608/ build is what I used and I can confirm it has working cellular and data. The Reason this occurs in the newer versions is that the current maintainer replaced the Modem/Radio firmware with a different one that seems to be incompatible with the device's cellular. Maybe once I get the time I can see if I can get a Build of 14.1 with the old driver working.

I've got Lineage 14.1 installed, full rooted, custom recovery... except now it won't detect the SIM card at all. Going back to stock fixes it, but with Lineage installed... nothing... no SIM. EDIT: Going back to stock fixes the SIM card issue, but now Wifi and USB don't work Well I'll be working on it...

Okay so I finally got the Odin flashables to work. You SHOULD NOT enable the factory reset protection, if you have it enabled, it will not work. In order to flash using odin you have to factory reset, sign into your samsung account, and then uncheck the protection.

I haven't been able to get mine rooted yet, however I could give you the APN settings from mine if you think it'd work. EDIT: Quick question, can you go to settings > About > Baseband Version and tell me what it says? I get unknown when I query it.

Kingo Root doesn't work. Looks like I have no way of rooting this. Oh well, not much lost I suppose.

As stated before, KingRoot doesn't work, it says it is not yet available for this device. I will try KingoRoot however and report back.
