Introductions / Re: A Hearty Hello!
« on: January 19, 2016, 12:45:26 pm »
Welcome to the forums!

The LG Sunset is a great phone, the reviewers are used to high end phones. I recommend you use the LG G4 Beat on TracFone. It works great and the coverage is pretty good.

If you need a tracfone to buy, I recommend the LG Ultimate 2. Lots of support for it.

If you have any questions make a post and our team will try out best.

Enjoy your stay!

Y not make ur own backup?

If he already had a slimmed down version that was tested, it would save me the time recreating the wheel. ;)
I can make a precreated backup of the phone if I know what apps you don't want in it

LG Ultimate 2 / Re: [ROM] [4.4.2] ULTALOLLI ROM for LG Ultimate 2
« on: January 15, 2016, 10:02:02 pm »
Two things: I flashed this ROM and noticed that, while it was writing, it skipped the md5, stating that none was detected. There was a moment of regret, but then when I rebooted, everything looked great. When I attempted to enter the passcode for my wifi, however, I could not get the keyboard to show up on the screen. I messed with it for a while but couldn't get anywhere with it, so I went into recovery and reverted to my G3 build.

Did I do something wrong, or is this thing bugged?

You guys are blazing a trail I know nothing about, but I am following, reading all I can, trying to get up to snuff in the android world. As I may have stated on another forum, I'm in music professionally, but I take all of my amp, footpedals and guitars apart to mod them as well, just so ya'll know where I'm coming from.

Thanks fellas.
You gotta wipe the cache after and before you flash. You may also need to go into settings and select the Google Keyboard. It's pretty cool you do that stuff with music, I myself play the volia ☺

Bricked Phone Support / Re: Just Bricked LG L41C Phone
« on: January 04, 2016, 06:59:56 pm »
Yeah I bricked mine to just called tracfone and they are sending out a replacement. My one only worry is that they find out I tried flashing the rom and send me something. I don't know maybe I'm just paranoid
TracFone doesn't care. I have had that happen before they just sent me a new phone.

LG Optimus Fuel / Re: twrp-2.8.7.0-l34c.img TWRP recovery

booting into safe mode:  From power off, press power button, and press and hold volume down button

booting into the TWRP recovery: From power off, press and hold power button and volume up button until you see the LG logo, then let go off both, then press and hold power button and volume up button.
Correct.

I am wondering if you all know you can go Direct to TWRP... by using the App Reboot Manager click on it... then choose recovery?
Hi Ryan hope your Holidays went well and yes I hear you on that about entering from Poweroff... the other day I Softbricked my test phone for lgl41c and was so frustrated knowing how to install a rom from start to finish but still make mistakes forgot to wipe everything as I swiped the new one then just rebooted system.... then just the LG Image showed up... so I was in a boot loop. I went to so many diff websites then one site said just hold down the Power Button and down button as you would usually do but keep holding it down till you see Factory Reset 6straight mins, holding those buttons........ **** hurts lol... then Bang Factory Reset showed up... and in the info I was reading for this particular phone by doing it that way it could take 30secs to upto 15mins.I thought I would add this to help anyone frozen as it is so so frustrating when there really are no options as you know USB will never recognize it you cant force anything through..........Hope all is well with everyone and Happy Holidays!!!
Turn off the phone, then hold down power and volume down then when the LG logo comes up release then hold down again until the factory reset screen shows up. If the home button starts glowing you did something wrong.

Still haven't found any new roms for this phone, but I did find an update to the recovery(twrp-2.8.4.0) that daishi4u put out last year.

Seems to work fine.

The hard part about making a ROM for this phone is that there really isn't a way to boot into recovery from power off.

TracFone Discussion / Re: LG Access LTE (LGL31L)
« on: December 20, 2015, 10:47:56 pm »
I'm not really concerned about the IR blaster, though the notification LED is pretty important. I've read that a few people have had this problem, and it seems to have stemmed from the fact that LG just ported over another phone's ROM without really setting it up for the Access' hardware. I suppose I'll have to wait for some dev to come up with a nice new ROM for the Access. Thank you for all your help though. :)
Yep

TracFone Discussion / Re: LG Access LTE (LGL31L)

Yeah, I've tried it on a Sony, Magnavox, Insigina, and Sansui TV, all with no success. AnyMote gives indication that its sent the IR pulses correctly, but no code works on any of the TV's I've tried. I set up my Wii in the Sensor Bar test mode (the one that lets you see IR lights) and the phone doesn't appear to be emitting any IR at all, even with the app that LG installed from the factory. I'm flummoxed.
Tell TracFone that its not working and ask for a replacement.

I rechecked the settings just a little bit ago, and where they were on the Ultimate (Settings > Display > Home Button LED) doesn't even exist. I tried a few 3rd party apps, like Light Flow, and Light Manager, and those didn't work either. As for the IR blaster, the phone comes factory installed with "QuickRemote" which uses the supposed IR blaster. I installed AnyMote, which reports the phone has a "LG Internal IR Blaster" as well. Not to mention, I can see the blaster next to the headphone jack. I'm just really confused as to why any of this is.
Oh I see. Your right. If its covered the n it wont work and it has to be paired to a LG TV or something. You probably already know that. Have you tried it on a different TV?

LG Power / Re: Recovery for the LG Power?

When can we expect recovery for the power?
I can't give an exact date, but you will see a test version within 3 months.

TracFone Discussion / Re: LG Access LTE (LGL31L)

My LG Ultimate 2 recently fell upon some hard times (A.K.A. I managed to drop it on a metal corner, on the screen, bam, dead). I purchased the LG Access LTE, thinking it was just the better version of the Ultimate 2, and while its a good phone, its missing some stuff... pretty important stuff. The home button notification light doesn't work (even though I can see its actually a LED, just like the Ultimate 2, hell, it doesn't even HAVE a notification light), and the IR blaster doesn't function. Is this stuff a custom ROM could fix, is the phone a dud (in which case I'll return it), or is there something I'm missing? I love the phone, other than the few things i mentioned previously.
I did the same thing it was just more extreme. I don't have a Access LTE so I can't test stuff. It should have a glowing LED home button, check the settings. It doesn't have a IR blaster, I checked. If its not in the hardware we cant enable it. For example we can't enable NFC on the Ultimate 2 if it doesn't have a NFC chip, but we can activate the HD recording because that's in the software. If it becomes a popular device I will buy one.

LG Sunset / Re: [Root] How to root the LG Sunset with Kingroot
« on: December 15, 2015, 11:14:15 am »
I believe my phone shows the error "Secure Booting Error 1003" because I tried installing TWRP Recovery.
There is no TWRP for this phone yet

Thank You , i did not use the most recent version.

I have now downloaded version 4.6 and it worked !!

do you know if there are free unlock codes available for this phone somewhere ?

Mine is a straighttalk phone and they will not provide unlock code because i have not had 12 months phone service using this phone on straighttalk.

I have also checked a couple of the online places for paid unlock codes and they do not have the codes for this phone.
You can't get free unlock codes very easy... None the less finding a ST phone unlock code at all. I can't provide you with any unlock codes and I have looked harder than most for unlock codes for ST and TF phones. If I come across anything I will tell you.
