LG Ultimate 2 / Re: [ROM] [4.4.4] [WIP] MIUI v5 for the LG Ultimate 2

Hope so for future roms and roms without it. Cause for me thats a important feature.
On my old LG Ally that was a needed feature or the phone was basically useless. 250 MB doesn't really let you do anything but update the Google Play.

So basically no apps to sd support. :( ouch!
Yea it really sucks. But don't think that it's impossible to do it. Someday we may see it. I hope.

This is what I was reffering to in my last question just so you were a little confused on what I was asking Ryan.
You won't be able to have a SD card available with internal for anything in any build of any CM based ROM. That's a fact. You will have to choose one or the other.

This will be the same with Lollipop and Marshmallow if you even see it for the phone.

If one of the top LG L70 devs can't figure it out than nobody will be able to.

But don't think we won't ever see both avaliable, buts its highly unlikely.

I really wish I could get it to see a SD Card also.

Sorry about that. For now I would stick with the UltaLolli or the new G3 ROM until we get a stable CM-based ROM.

What about a recovery for this phone?

Sent from my LGL22C using Tapatalk
I will build one sometime in the future, no doubt in my mind about that. But right now I am focused on the LG L41C right now because of some exciting new developments in CyanogenMod and other stuff. Once I finish with the Ultimate 2 I will work on the Power.

Hi Ryan, just wanted to know two things; how is the cellular, wifi and sound things are coming along and wanted know also (not sure why I didn't asl the other day) if this rom has the ability to send apps to the sd card as the stock rom has the ability to do so?

Thanks! ☺

Ok so the sound and Wi-Fi now work so now I am just doing some fine tuning to make it work better before release. As for the SD card you won't see it working in the next build. Google Fit also works 100% with no bugs. And even auto rotation is working. Calling should be available sometime in September.

Please thank @edodson84 for fixing lots of bugs. He spent lots of time on it.

Expect the next release to be on the 23rd.

Hi Everyone I want to say Thank you to EACH individual, that has put so much free time and work into these Rom's and Recoveries. I remember, way Back under a year ago..... Could not find anything on the LGL41C. and I had searched for weeks ,Then of course stumbled upon the young man Ryan which I am grateful for and through him met you all...So Please keep up this awesome work!!! Ultimate Question are any of you good in making Kernels like starting at a 2k...Just want to ask?
Oc kernels will come in time as of now my time has been dedicated to cm11 i have got touchscreen and now wifi to function good things come to those who wait :)

Sent from my l41c aka ultimate 2

CM11 is very fast so I don't think you will need a overclock kernel if you go with CM. MIUI is also right up there with CM buts it's more smooth than fast. Both are faster than stock. While @edodson84 is working on CM I will work on a 1.3 Ghz kernel for the stock ROM.

Well it was a idea I guess it was already tried lol. Wish it would allow you to repack them tho idk why it wouldn't.
What happens ismit repacks but all the changes I made don't show. It's just the same boot.img we had before. It used to let me before but know it won't. At least I got all the important stuff for the G3 ROM done before it quit on me.

Ryan, I was just thinking what if we could use the touchscreen and cellular files from the stock 4.4.2 rom for the ultimate 2 for the other roms that don't have working touchscreens and cellular networks? Wouldn't they work then?
We already have a working touchscreen so I don't need to worry about that. It's possible to get everything working but the issue is it won't repack the files. If it did we would have a fully working CM and MiUI. I have a fix for the WiFi so you might see a MiUI ROM with working sound and WiFi in a day or so.

It looks nice, whats AOKP and does the rom have the google store and apps?
AOKP is a stock Android ROM with extra functions and a quicker interface. The AOKP name stands for Android Open Kang Project. You can flash the Google apps and Play Store in a zip file I will include in the OP.

Looks good does the basic phone functions work??

Cell service and data?
No but in a month or so they should work. The reason for this is that it's based of of CM11 so there is many bugs. I will release AOKP soon. In the next week of you want a pure Android ROM that has less bugs.

But MiUI is a fun ROM to play with.

If the ROM has working cell service I would use it as a daily driver.

We now have the one and only MIUI for our LG Ultimate 2! But don't get to excited just yet. It's not 100 percent stable so it can't be used as a daily driver, but it comes close. All the basics work so you don't have to worry you are gonna mess up your phone. I have tested it myself and I can confirm it does work.

How to install using TWRP:
1. Download MIUIv5-20150823-UNOFFICIAL-w5c.zip to your phone.
2. Boot into recovery from flashify by selecting the "Reboot into recovery" option from the menu.
3. In TWRP select "Backup"
4. Now select the "Storage" option and tap on MicroSD
5. Next name the backup something then press backup. And it will backup everything on your phone.
5. Once it's done press the home key and then select the "Install" option from the menu.
6. Find the zip and uncheck anything about erasing the ROM
7. After its done installing press "Wipe Cache" and then press reboot.
8. Enjoy MIUI!

- Wi-Fi works!
- Sound fixed
- Auto rotate fixed

- It's way to fast so if you blink you will miss the app loading screen.
- First boot takes about 4 minutes so don't get worried if it takes a little while.
- I have removed some of the MIUI apps that are not very useful for non-chinese users. For example, their market, games center, Mi-band, apps like that.

- Won't make calls/Send SMS
- Does not think there is a SD card inserted
- Camera doesn't work
- Won't take screenshots
- Fails to uninstall apps
Tips and tricks:
At following link you can find some very good information on how to use MIUI v5, please take a look: http://en.miui.com/thread-4409-1-1.html

@edodson84 for all the hard work invested into the touchscreen issue.
@edodson84 for bug fixes.
@edodson84 for letting me use his boot.img
@zlaja84 on androidforums.com for the base ROM

Now stop reading this and go enjoy MIUI!

How is the lollipop rom or the CM roms coming along?
edodson84 and I have got CM11 and MiUI V5 to boot with a working touchscreen. Basically everything is not working so its more a proof of concept thing.

As for Lollipop I have got it to boot but with no touchscreen. You won't see Lollipop anywhere in the near future.

I will be releasing MiUI or Carbon ROM for users to test it out.

On the other hand edodson84 will be taking care of CM11. You should thank him because he found a way to get the touchscreen to work. He has spent at least a month to get it to work.

Also both me and edodson84 have tested out the ROMs so ya don't have to worry about a bricked phone.

There is still a lot of work to be done, but in the end we may see a stable CM11 or CM12.

All we need is some time.

Recovery Tool for the LG Ultimate 2

Only use this on the LG Ultimate 2!!!

This is a Windows batch file that can install a recovery of your choice, root your phone, reboot into recovery and much more. It comes with the main LG L41C recoveries in it. I was very bored one day so I made this for myself. Then I thought it might be a good idea to let others use it. You will need to install adb drivers and fastboot drivers before using this tool. They are included in the zip file. The tool is quite simple and is really easy to use. If cats could read they could use it.

How to install:

Download the zip file here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/hrykg3k0j5pcjei/L41C-Advanced-Recovery-Tools.zip
Extract everything to a place where you can find it (Like your desktop)
Install the ADB drivers: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347803384
Install the LG Mobile drivers
On your phone make sure USB debugging is enabled
Open the RecoveryTool.bat file

  • Added non-touch CWM and touch CWM
  • Add TWRP v2
  • Added PhilZ Touch Recovery
  • Recovery Tool will install TowelRoot for you to make it easy to root
  • Decreased File Size
