There is no such thing as stock recovery on the L41C, could you describe exactly what is happening a little more? I am confused as I have never heard of someone not being able to boot into recovery after flashing a recovery.

Your welcome! If you need anymore feel free to come back.
rcunningham,
i just flashed w5c_twrp_2870.img as described in the 1st post and followed these instructions to the letter on this page http://androidforums.com/threads/twrp-2-8-7-0-lg-ultimate-2.922115/
Make sure your phone is rooted.
Download w5c_twrp_2870.img
Install and run Flashify.
Make sure you hit “Allow” when Superuser request window pops up when opening the Flashify app.
Choose “Recovery image” for recovery images.
Choose the file you want to install by selecting “Choose a file”.
Choose one of your file explorer apps. If you don’t see any, download and install ES File Explorer
Browse your storage and choose the IMG file you downloaded earlier.
Choose “Yup”.
and now i cannot boot into recovery, stock recovery worked fine prior to flashing with flashify. i don't get it?! what happened.

ok that's clear enough. another question. i have searched 10+ pages of google hits and cannot find the lg l41c stock recovery image anywhere. i just see an endless sea of bricked threads. Making matters more complicated, what i don't understand is when i backup my existing stock recovery in flashify and try to save to sd, nothing is saved, yes i am rooted and have the sdcard write fix. So the only other option is to backup to google drive but when i download what was backed up to drive there is no filetype and nothing can recognize what kind of file it is, img, zip, etc. i don't know since no extension was appended to the end of the filename. Flashify doesn't even recognize the backup or see the file when i manually copy the backup back to the phone however it sees the backup of the kernel on the sd card just fine. i would like to have a working flashable copy of my existing stock recovery before trying to flash TWRP but flashify is making no sense here. Can someone post a working copy of the stock recovery from their ulimate 2? i'm sure many folks would find it invaluable as i do.
this is my software version (https://s4.postimg.org/4orzd0lct/Screenshot_2016_08_13_23_01_52.png)
You really don't need a stock recovery backup, once you have TWRP there is really no need to go back. If you do need it here is the link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952602907
You flash that in TWRP using the normal zip install.

You'd be placing the stock rom then recovery into the flash queue within TWRP in that order then factory reset using the stock recovery from power off to complete it.

uh....thanks for the link but you didnt fully answer my other question, what does it mean to flash both at the same time? how is it possible to flash 2 different things at the same time? do you mean flash one and then flash the next one, then reboot or whatever? if so, in what order?

Hi everyone I am preparing to sell my ultimate 2 today questions about reflashing my stock firmware and recovery do I flash both in TWRP at the exact same time? Please let me know soon cause I am selling it tonight.
Thank you.
Yes, at the same time.
Stock ROM/firmware can can be found here: http://androidforums.com/threads/lg-ultimate-2-stock-4-4-2-unmodified-deodexed.918607/
where do you get a copy of your stock firmware? did you restore to factory and then create a nandroid of that or do you actually have a download it and if so wjere can i get that for my l41c?
and what do you mean by flash both at the same time, considering i have never used TWRP before but reading up on it before i decide if i is safe enough to do it.
