Any idea on how much resourses(disk space, mem)  is saved with all these deletes? Does it seem leaner/snappier?

It's been a while, I probably cleared out ~150mb of space. I definitely got ~40mb of RAM free, though that mostly came from disabling Google Services. I'd have to do a factory reset and repeat the process to get the exact numbers, having deleted/frozen apps I never used doesn't make it 'snappier' per se but it does let me keep more apps active in the background. Kinda nice, though nowhere close to what you'd get with 1gb RAM.

For the most part the stock rom on this phone is pretty decent. How badly do you need a backup? I could upload one, but yeah I'd have to factory reset everything, not much trouble since most my APK's are backed up anyway.

I've had both an l41c and l34c rooted for a while, it's safe so long as you're not actively deleting things in the root directory.

There's a guide around to set up a custom recovery that seems to be working %100, you should root your phone and then do that immediately (and then make a backup of the stock ROM) if you feel like deleting stuff. I got a list of bloat safe to delete listed in the l34c forum, though really the 1gb RAM is more than enough.

Before I get into mine I want to plug the F-Droid service (http://fdroid.org/). It's a repository of Free Open Source Software (FOSS) apps for android, all installable through, you guessed it, an app. Very handy if you don't want Google running on your phone.

So, these are my favorite apps I always put on my phone:

Opera Mini 7.6.4 browser
Best lightweight browser. Opera compresses all data through their servers before sending it to your phone, not good for privacy but great for speeding up webpags/saving data. The upgraded one on the play store now is poop though, download the 7.6.4 version here: http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/versions/

RetroArch
Multiple video game emulators bundled into one app, works fantastic. I've played through several SNES and PSX games without any lags or bugs. http://www.libretro.com/ If you're on a smaller phone download 1.0.0.2 or older, the new update has a GUI that doesn't fit on my 3.5" screen.

PopcornTime
Bittorrent service that lets you stream movies other people are seeding. App is still in beta, but works well enough. https://popcorntime.io/#get-app

Powerful proxy app, can turn your phone into a wifi repeater/hotspot.

Csploit
App with a bunch of pentesting tools. Lets you monitor all the traffic going over your wifi network. https://github.com/cSploit/android/releases

Torrent downloading app with no ads.

SmartStock
Best free stock-tracking app I've found.

AFwall+
Gives you access to Android's native firewall, lets you control internet communications going to/from your phone at every level. Great for keeping certain noisy apps quiet.

NewPipe
Basically Youtube, it parses Youtube's API's to play videos on your phone. Lightweight and works well.

Diode
Lightweight Reddit browser.

Pixel Dungeon
Really fun rouge-like game, although can be crazy frustrating.

VLC
The famous all-in-one media player.

NOTE: A much better way to handle this is to use TitaniumBackup's 'freeze' function, Not only do you get to keep your apps but it seems to bypass bootloop-issues when deleting system-level stuff.
Also the free CCleaner app can show ALL apps using RAM, including system-level stuff, it can also freeze/disable sysapps but for some reason wouldn't do so for me, so I had to pay for TitaniumBackup. Use the two to tweak your system as you want.

By freezing most of the sysapps I never used, I've managed to free up about ~50mb of extra RAM, enough to use one resource-intensive app without having background music shut off. Pretty worth it imo.

this is a list of what I've found to be safe to delete in the /system/app and /system/priv-app folders. I'll break it into two sections, stuff that's pure bloat and stuff that may cause problems with certain apps.

note that you need ROOT permissions, and you should have a recovery installed and *make a backup of your stock ROM* before deleting anything. otherwise you will brick your phone and have to buy a new one.

Things to note:

Deleting LGMediaProvider and another LG app (can't figure out which one) prevents you from setting a custom ringtone/notification tone/wallpaper; you can set these up beforehand (be sure to put it in internal storage and not the SD card) and then delete the system apps.

You CAN delete the stock phone/contacts apps if you want to replace them with another dialer app, but Dialer/Contacts is necessary to make emergency calls.

You can also replace the stock LGHome launcher, but have the other launcher already loaded and running before you delete LGHome or else you'll render the stock rom useless (can't access app drawer)

Stk - Sim Toolkit, probably important.

That's it! If any of this stuff breaks your phone please post it and I'll update this (you did have a recovery installed, right?) I'm still testing the phone so I may have to update this sooner or later, but as far as I can tell it's good.

Thanks everyone working on developing awesome roms for Tracfones I'm not a developer myself so I really appreciate this work; Tracfone service is great and their phones have the same specs as major carriers but are wayyy cheaper. Best service imo for anyone who doesn't need 3G/4G data.

Most phones don't brick this easily, I guess Verizon/Tracfone don't want people messing with their service so they have to lock down their phones super tight, and LG from my experience usually does things really well. The first L34C I had I bricked after removing the OTA system update apk (stupid move) and now it's impossible to get into recovery. Just bootloops endlessly.

At least it was only a $10 phone... Honestly if you're gonna mess with this make sure you have a recovery installed that you can regularly access first. Really making any small changes to stock is just asking for trouble with this phone..

It's possible, I did it with my old LGP-500 which only had 200mb of internal storage

However that was back on 2.3.7 gingerbread, since KitKat android's capabilities to write to the SD have been crippled somewhat to circumvent a security issue in android. So it might not work on the L41C/L34C.

Search around XDA forums, someone might have a solution to this.
