Um, I just got this phone wonder if anyone will start thinking of a root method and backups of the stock ROM with a recovery?

Have you tried KingRoot? If there is enough demand for the phone I will buy one and see what I can do.

I'll try it after the warranty expires, not going to root it early unless as you said a demand for the root and ROM work ups can be done.

If you root under warranty tracfone doesn't do anything. Why would you need a warranty when it costs more then a repair to the phone.

It's your phone so I can't tell you what to do anyway haha

I have the ZTE Stratos, and I have been looking everywhere for a way to gain root access... Can anyone please help me??

Try different root methods, like KingRoot and stuff like that. Eventually you will find one that works.
